Here’s a sample tapping script to reprogram “I’m not good enough”:
Set-Up Statements: Tapping on the Karate Chop Point (side of hand):
Even though I decided when I was really young that I’m not good enough, I love and accept myself.
Even though they said I wasn’t good enough, I love and profoundly accept myself.
Even though they yelled at me and I decided I was bad, I still deeply love and accept myself.
Tap through the 8 points 3 times:
Top of Head: I don’t feel “good enough”.
Eyebrow: They told me I was bad.
Side of Eye: I spilled my milk and they yelled at me.
Under Eye: I was really young when I internalized that I’m not good enough.
Under Nose: I’ve been gathering evidence ever since to prove that I’m not good enough.
Under Chin: It must be true. There is so much evidence that I’m not good enough.
Collar Bone: “I’m not good enough” is running my life.
Under Arm: I’m running my life on something I decided at age 3, and it might not be true.
Top of Head: If I believed I was good enough just as I am, that would change everything.
Eyebrow: Maybe I’ll start gathering evidence that I AM good enough.
Side of Eye: Just think, I’ve been making big decisions in my life from the mind of a 3-year-old.
Under Eye: Thank goodness I can push the record button.
Under Nose: It sounds too easy. I thought it would be difficult.
Chin: I am already good enough. Just testing.
Collar Bone: Am I? Well, my life would certainly be better if I believed I am.
Under Arm: OK, Tape Player, start recording.
Top of Head: I have decided I AM GOOD ENOUGH.
Eyebrow: I have gifts and talents that are unique to me.
Side of Eye: I DO love and accept myself.
Under Eye: There’s a whole Universe out there that loves and supports me.
Under Nose: Subconscious mind, keep recording. I AM GOOD ENOUGH.
Chin: I am ready starting to feel “good enough”.
Collar Bone: Wow, I’m feeling way more powerful.
Under Arm: I celebrate with gratitude the news: I AM GOOD ENOUGH!
