I highly recommend Eckhart Tolle’s book, The Power of Now. I read it years ago, but it still speaks to me. When we carry around any form of negativity, we are not living in the NOW. The negativity may take the form of resentment, unwillingness, judgment, dissatisfaction, etc. All of these are examples of resisting “what is”.
Acceptance helps us return to present moment awareness. What we cannot change, we must accept. Otherwise we are trying to swim upstream, against the current. It’s a huge struggle and it gets us “nowhere”. Instead, we can go “now here”, back to the present moment. We are swimming WITH the current, going back to peace and harmony, joy and fulfillment.
Where would you rather be? When we are conscious, we are One with Source. We are supported, loved, and honored for who we truly are. When we are unconscious, we are in pain and we are stuck in the past or the future. We do have CHOICE; it’s our birthright. We can choose to suffer, or we can choose to have joy. We can have inner conflict, or we can choose inner peace. We can choose to break free of judgment, resistance and resentment, and when we do, we are choosing happiness.
Eckhart Tolle states that when we find ourselves in a “here and now” situation that we find intolerable, we have 3 choices: We can remove ourselves from the situation, we can change the situation, or we can accept the situation totally. Choosing one of these 3 options takes us out of victimhood and puts an end to “psychic pollution”. Check in with your inner guidance and take action. Fear does not arise when we are in the NOW, so make sure you are taking action from your higher self, your True Self (based in Love), not from your EGO (false self – based in fear). This is the pathway to happiness.
